Winded....

JANUARY 7, 2011

Fight to... "finish" ....and you will win..

Never underestimate the hands of your opponent...

A defensive fighter will eventually get beaten...

An offensive fighter will tire quickly...

So Optimize on both Offense AND Defense... to ensure that the balance of your approach, attack and stamina will Co-align and co-exist together...

(Almost anyone can "walk" a mile...and never tire...

Very few can sprint a mile...and retain mental and physical stamina...

So pace your self to finish the mile...to over come those who are lagging behind..and allow those who want to prove they are faster to move forward...

Simply so you can cruise right by them as they are sitting on the side of the road winded by there own arrogance...)

Finally Home again....

For 4 years now...
Almost everything I owned was in a storage unit..
I paid over $2000 to store things that have no monetary value to anyone but myself.

I often wondered if i shouldn't have done that....until tonight.

As I sat in the middle of the living room in front of my fireplace, opening one weathered box after another, each box held more memories than you could ever buy...

Childhood photographs...

Letters from my mom...

High school year books...

My baseball card collection...

Hot wheels and nascar car collection...

An incredible plaque that Mike Bowen made for me on a scroll saw almost 15 years ago...

A old weathered plaque my late uncle Larry gave me that says...
"Friends gather here" (it is priceless to me now...I sure do miss you  Papa Louie)

It felt good to be sitting in the floor tonight surrounded by my entire life....

Even though the refrigerator is empty, there's not a single can of food in my cubbard...

I don't even have a mattress to sleep on...

or a single chair to sit in...

But...it really doesn't matter...

Because, I am finally home....

2013....Reminiscing...

December 18th, 2013

Waking up this morning to the sound of my daughter giggling, making her motorboat noises and smiling 3 inches from my face....My mind goes back in time...

My entire life has been one ongoing Battle after another...
All the way back to almost dying as a small child...
Serious battles have had me at deaths door many many times...
How I'm still here...only God knows...
I've battled depression (without ridiculous medications)
I've been on the edge of completely loosing my mind...

The hard years are finally showing their mark upon my face...
The wrinkles and grey is over taking the baby face I've had most of my life...
I've lost my hair and it miraculously grew back...and now I'm loosing it again...

The roads I've traveled have not been kind to me....
The mountains I've climbed have nearly completely broken me down at times...

But those poor choices were my own...no one to blame but me..
So when I look in the mirror each day and know that through it all, God has given me the strength to overcome it all....
And now each morning...as I look deep into my beautiful daughters teddy bear brown eyes...
I know without a shadow of a doubt....
That I would fight each and every battle again,
knowing where I would be......

right now in this moment of time....
